SmartDiligence partners with LSEG Risk Intelligence to expand its AML & digital compliance solutions with market-leading global data

SmartDiligence, the UK’s leading provider of anti-money-laundering (AML) and digital compliance software, has partnered with LSEG Risk Intelligence, a foremost global financial markets infrastructure and data provider.

SmartDiligence’s innovative platform now has access to LSEG’s worldwide data source of more than 40 countries to further enhance its AML and digital compliance solutions - in particular its ability to provide instant verification of international individuals.

LSEG’s data allows SmartDiligence’s digital compliance technology to verify an individual’s identity (name, address, DOB, national ID) against LSEG’s trusted reference data from governments, credit companies, telecoms, and utility sources.

Fraser Mitchell, technical director at SmartDiligence, said: “Individuals who reside internationally are often perceived as higher risk, and yet regularly have the weakest level of verification. We have partnered with LSEG because they provide the highest quality of local global data, sourced from their extensive data provider network, delivering fully comprehensive data coverage worldwide.

“They have industry-leading individual identity match rates and an unmatched, in-depth understanding of the data from a local perspective. This is an exciting development for us and our clients – our horizons are widening as our business expands.”

SmartDiligence’s digital compliance solution combines electronic verification (EV) with robust sanction screening, source of funds and real-time monitoring to complete detailed customer checks in seconds. This enables regulated firms to comply with AML regulations and fulfil Customer Due Diligence and Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements.

Across its client base, SmartDiligence directly supports more than 2,000 financial services firms, more than 1,000 property firms, one in three of the UK’s top 200 law firms and one in two of the top 100 accountancy firms.

The SmartDiligence Index - Electronic Verification Uncovered III
Financial crime such as money laundering and sanctions breaches continue to damage the UK economy and society. In September 2023, for the third consecutive year, SmartDiligence surveyed decision-makers in 500 regulated UK businesses across finance, accountancy, legal and property sectors on a range of digital compliance issues. The campaign highlights the digital compliance issues, inefficiencies and shortfalls that are exposing regulated firms to debilitating fines and reputational damage. Its objective is to explore attitudes and approaches of regulated firms across the UK in relation to compliance and electronic identity (ID) verification.
